Korean Gochujang Oyster Mushrooms

Korean Gochujang Oyster Mushrooms 

This recipe was the first one I ever tried with our mushrooms! The umami of the oyster mushroom and the kick of the gochujang pair so wonderfully together. This is a great recipe for a simple introduction to cooking with our mushrooms.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound of fresh Harmony Oyster Mushrooms

For Marinade:

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon gochujang
  • 2 tablespoons mirin/rice wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey - adjust for taste
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • ½ tablespoon sesame oil

Cooking:

  1. Prepare marinade by simply combining all ingredients. Adjust for taste, set aside.
  2. Slices oyster mushrooms into 1 inch strips or to personal preference. 
  3. Combine mushrooms and marinade for 20 minutes.
  4. In a large pan set to medium heat, use neutral oil (vegetable, avocado, or grapeseed works perfectly) and pour the marinated mushrooms into the hot pan.
  5. Stir the mushrooms so they cook evenly for approximately 5-8 minutes until they have cooked thoroughly and have started to crisp up around the edges. 
  6. Turn off heat, and serve with steamed white rice and sliced cucumber. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onion and enjoy!
