Lion's Mane Pan-Fried "Chicken"

This fried chicken dupe will be sure to be a household favorite. You can even slices the Lion's Mane into patties and have fried chicken sandwiches!


  • 1 pound of Harmony Mushroom’s Lion’s Mane
  • 2-3 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 6 tablespoons of avocado oil
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon of dried parsley
  • 1 tablespoon of garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon of onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne (if you want some spice)
  • Salt and pepper to taste


  1. Slice Lion’s Mane into 1-inch thick and 4-5 inch long pieces or to personal preference. You can also cut the Lion’s Mane into nugget-sized pieces. Set aside.
  2. Combine flour, paprika, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, salt, and pepper. Mix until fully blended.
  3. Beat two to three eggs with a fork, then dredge each piece of Lion’s Mane in egg mixture and then flour mixture. Shake off excess and place aside.
  4. Heat avocado oil in a cast iron (preferably) or non-stick skillet to medium/high heat. Carefully add coated Lion’s Mane to pan and cook on each side for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown. Place to the side on a paper towel to soak up excess oil. Let cool for 3-5 minutes and then enjoy!
